Louis Vuitton Purse

So I had a request for a Louis Vuitton cake.
I wasn't prepared for how much time this one would take.
I figured the only way to get the detail on this cake was to hand paint it. Little did I realize that all the colors were different! Not one of them is the same color. They are all varying shades of similar colors.

Final outcome... I was quite pleased!!
A lot of work but very happy with the way it looks!!!

Easter - Bunny Butt Cupcakes!!

EASTER!!!
I didn't get time to do a big Easter cake like I had wanted to. Life seems to always get in the way of cake making fun. So I decided that I could pull off some cute little cupcakes. Who doesn't like a bunny butt!

Simple little cupcakes... but so cute.

Zebra gift box

OK  so it has been a while since I last posted anything and I am quite behind.
Summer is almost over and the kids are getting ready to head back to school... Sigh.
So I figured I better get in gear an get posting some of the cakes I have made over the last few months.
This one was done back in April (Ack! that is a while ago!)
I decided to try my hand at paneling a cake in modelling chocolate. I wanted to achieve nice sharp edges so I figured this was the medium achieve that. I think it worked out quite beautifully. The tissue paper is done with a mix of modelling chocolate and fondant.

Snake Cake

This was Neal's birthday cake this year. He didn't get to choose what he wanted.
He only got to pick the flavour. I chose the design only because I had seen this cake done and wanted to give it a try.
This is one of my first real attempts at my airbrush. I have used it for small details and highlights but not to this extent. I learnt a lot about it with this cake because when I first pulled it out it did not work. I panicked because the cake was done and ready to be airbrushed and it wouldn't work at all! After Google and some playing around I figured it out and was on my way!!!
I'm quite happy with the result.

Okay so this was a fun cake to do because my oldest girl helped me out with it. The cake was for her birthday and she came up with the design and the color scheme.
She was my little assistant, she colored fondant and cut out shapes.
